MDU generator installed GREAT
The Onan Generator for the dental MDU is great and the generator powers the
AC, compressor, suction, and drills for Drs. The MDU has a hot water
heater that needs replacing, and a little clean up and a few fixtures then
its ready to haul down to Baja. Pray that the MDU gets across without much
hassle of the Federales and border and customs agents. Many thanks to Dr
Mark Haney, John Smalldridge, and ohter donors of time and money to get
this unit on the road for service to Baja's farm workers and abused women
and children at the Casa Del Pastor shelter in San Vicente, BCN.

Dental Unit Mobile trailer needs generator
The trailer project that was nearly complete a year ago suffered a few
setbacks, and before we have the confidence to Gaul it to Baja for full
dentistry. The rear opertory arm was not put on with the right bracket by
installers and the bolts sheared off in transit to Mexico on it's maiden
trip south. God had the foreknowledge that the generator was not working
well and it failed shortly after it was hauled home by the Jangaard family.
As a result we need a new generator that will be trustworthy for the use
of the dental unit, since it will be used in migrant work camps with little
to no electrical power. If any of you would like to donate a generator or
could arrange donation of one it is desperately needed. Cost is estimated
at $3,500 for a quiet 5000-7500 watt 4 stroke generator. We are trying to
get Estrada Dental Supply to make good on their installation of the faulty
op arm n the rear dental chair too.
Thank you for your support, prayer,
and gifts.

Dental Trailer Complete but needs outfitting
Our newly Built mobile Dental Unit trailer (MDU) was hauled to
the Otaj Mesa border crossing by our dental student team on Friday Feb. 4
and were turned away for entrance into Mexico due to lack of Mexican
Authorization and official invitation. We are now creating a plan with
ministry partners in Yuma and Mexicali to get the unit across the border
soon.
There are some things that could be completed in the
interim to add to the trailer. More cabinetry, trays from dental offices
to hold instruments and handpieces, disposables such as gloves, cotton
rolls, Novocaine with Epi, 2x2s, an "amalgamator", amalgum filling
materials like silver and murcury. Composite bonding and filling materials
for restorations and curing lights. Chemicals for X-ray development like
developer and fixer, bulk toothbrushes and small personal toothpaste, and
sterilization chemicals specific to the dental industry. We also would
like a "backup" compressor in case the one we have new fails in service. A
overhaul on the gas generator was done but the electric part of the
generator could use new brushes, voltage regulator, and other small parts
and innstallation. A "Backup" 5000W generator would also help to give
additional power in camp ministry and to be a backup to the main generator
built into the trailer. Plastic organizers for the handpieces for hygene
and for the dental proceedures.
A high speed
and a low speed handpeice would be welcome since there is only one
currently on the unit. Prophys need the low speed unit for cleanings, so
we could use as many as 4 of those.

Mobile Dental Unit progress
Today Friday June 25, 2010 Robert Arrington delivered two complete Belmont wall mountable X-Ray dental units (65 KVP 10mA) donated by Dr Rob Cisneros, DDS of Sunnyvale, CA who recently upgraded his office with digital equipment. The means that the MDU (mobile dental unit) now has two dental chairs, two stools, two dental X-Rays, many hand extraction and dental surgical tools, and is well on its way to having most of the major components for a full functioning unit once all equipment is installed. We are ready to have ministry dentists and layout specialist look at the unit and decide where each piece of equipment will be placed for the efficiency of two dental operatories in this 23 foot trailor.
The trailor once completed will be hauled to the Ensenada area initially to be used by USA teams on local mission outreaches to be towed by MCAM vehicles already in the Ensenada area. If you have a dentist that would like to donate prophy, probing, application and shaping handpieces, drills, tools, a compressor, a vacuum, an autoclave, an amalgamator, Dental X-ray developer tanks, or auto processor, let us know. The Lord has already provided greatly for this trailor.
Any equipment donations for the dental trailor can be shipped or dropped off to 140 N Hill Ave. Pasadena, CA ( the trailors location currently) and the used retail value attached to get a Tax deductible donation receipt. Donations also welcome to purchase any items that are not donated to this project. Send the donation value also to Brian Russell, CPA Treasurer MCAM 1250 E Walnut Ste 122 Pasadena, CA 91106

Mobile Dental Unit Project
The mobile dental unit donated by "Pradit" is coming nicely. Two dental
chairs and lots of hand dental innstruments have been delivered from
Inndianapolis IN and 2 dental X-Ray units and on thier way from San Carlos
CA to use and install in the unit. The unit needs an expert to lay out and
plumb the unit with suction hose, water hose, and compressor, vacuum
system. Generator and A/C need servicing and the outside needs paint.
